BC Arts Council Announces High School Art Awards

The Broome County Arts Council today announced award winners in the local round of “An Artistic Discovery Congressional High School Art Competition 2013.” They are Allison Lewis and Anna Warfield of Whitney Point HS; Monika Roznere and Jessica Petrylak of Chenango Valley High School; and, Nicole Keefe and Breige Graven of Seton Catholic Central High School. The “Best in Show” award went to Whitney Point’s Allison Lewis for her colored pencil drawing “I See You!” Also participating in the local round were student artists from Vestal High School. Broome County winners now advance to the 22nd Congressional District contest in Utica, sponsored by U.S. Representative Richard Hanna. An exhibition of works submitted to the local competition will be on view at The Broome County Arts Council, 81 State Street, 5th Floor, Binghamton, through May 3rd.
