From OFD:

A concert this Sunday, March 24th by Country music artist Paul Cummings in honor of Fallen Owego Firefighter Captain Matt Porcari will be held at the Owego-Apalachin Middle School beginning at 4 PM. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. The Newark Valley Fire Department will be selling Chicken BBQ throughout the event beginning at 2:30 PM.

Owego Fire Department (OFD) Captain Matt Porcari lost his life while battling a house fire on January 21st on a mutual aid call to the Newark Valley Fire District. The concert is one of a series of events to honor his memory. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Owego Fire Department Training Tower Fund. OFD has been in the process of building a state-of-the-art emergency services training center since 2000 to benefit the first responders in the Southern Tier to include Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement agencies. One of the main components of the facility will be a live-burn building designed to make training as realistic as possible. Porcari was an advocate of the project and assisted at the site preparations.

Paul Cummings is a Country music artist and Rochester, NY area firefighter. The concert is part of his “30 shows in 30 days,” fire house tour. Presale tickets are available at Thompson’s Grocery, John’s Fine Foods, the Community Shop and Scott Smith & Son.
