Binghamton University Students Win Big at NATS

This past weekend, Friday, March 15 – Sunday, March 17, 2013, Binghamton University students studying voice participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing for the Eastern Regional Vocal Competition at Ithaca College. Over 150 students from approximately 20 schools including Eastman School of Music, West Virginia University and Ithaca College participated in the competition.

Binghamton University had more FIRST PLACE WINNERS than any school in the competition! They are:

Daniela Rivera (1st place) Freshman Women Division
Caitlin Gotimer (1st place) Sophomore Women Division
Charles Hyland (1st Place) Graduate Lower Divison
Robert Heepyoung Oh (1st Place) Graduate Upper Division
Hana Ryu (2nd Place) Graduate Upper Division.

The Eastern Region of NATS is made up of six Districts: Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Quebec, and West Virginia. They are one of the largest divisions in the Association and they offer many workshops and student auditions at the District and Chapter levels. In addition, there is a Regional Conference and Student Auditions every year.
