Binghamton native trumpetist Tony Kadleck will be the guest artist joining the Harpur Jazz Ensemble's big band jazz concert

THE HARPUR JAZZ ENSEMBLE WITH GUEST ARTIST TONY KADLECK

Binghamton native trumpetist Tony Kadleck will be the guest artist joining the Harpur Jazz Ensemble's big band jazz concert, conducted by Michael Carbone on Thursday, December 3rd at 8:00 p.m. in the Osterhout Concert Theater at Binghamton University. A full day of jazz begins with a free mid-day concert at 1:20 p.m. with Mike Carbone on tenor saxophone, Gene Cothran on piano, Al Hamme on alto saxophone, Jeff Guevin on bass, Joe Roma on drums and Mo "Reese" Taylor on trombone.
After the mid-day concert, Tony Kadleck will conduct a free jazz clinic at 2:30 p.m.; the day will conclude with the evening performance.

Tony Kadleck is currently one of the most sought-after trumpet players in the New York area. After graduating from the Manhattan School of Music in 1989, Kadleck did some touring with Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Eventually, the NY studios kept Tony too busy to leave town, and he found himself recording with a number of artists, including Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Elton John, and Celine Dion. Kadleck also spends plenty of time playing a wide variety of live concerts, having performed with Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan, Ella Fitzgerald, Issac Hayes, and most recently the Count Basie Orchestra. In addition to playing on countless jingles and for many films and shows, Kadleck has also done a great deal of composing. His debut CD "Extended Outlook", features eight of his original works, about which Tony says, "There is nothing more gratifying than hearing spectacular musicians making these songs come to life." The CD features an amazing cast of musicians, including Chuck Loeb, David Mann, Henry Hey, Jon Herington and Andy Snitzer. Tony is currently a member of many organizations including the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, the New York Pops, John Fedchock's NY Big Band, the Westchester Jazz Orchestra, and John Pizzarelli's "Swing Seven".

The day of Big Band Jazz is co-sponsored by Binghamton University Department of Music and the Harpur Jazz Project.
