From UHS:

An empty bowl can bring a lot of joy to the giver as well as the receiver. With that thought in mind, UHS will participate with other groups across the country in April by hosting another popular "Empty Bowls" luncheon. For a $25 donation, you can enjoy a hearty lunch of soup, salad, bread and dessert, get to take home a fabulous handcrafted pottery bowl, and benefit those in the community who often don't have enough to eat.

This year’s Empty Bowls will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday April 3 at UHS Wilson Medical Center, Picciano 4, Room 5ABC, and Thursday April 4 at UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Russell Room. Proceeds benefit community residents through the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and the UHS Foundation’s Stop Hunger Fund.

Tickets can be purchased in advance, and are $25 per person. Contact Tom LaSarso or Sarah Deamond in Food & Nutrition at UHS Wilson, 763-6068. The event is open to the general public.
