H1N1 AND WINTER PREPAREDNESS COMMUNITY OUTREACH

In light of the recent recognition at the 2009 National Conference on Community Preparedness which projected 'The Power of Citizen Corps'; the Bradford County Council would like to invite you to help us continue with innovative ideas and pursuing the “Neighbor Helping Neighbor” initiative by joining our key players at the upcoming Community Outreach.

Sharon Lowery and Jill Deskins along with the BCEMA (Bradford County Emergency Management Agency) Coordinator Jim Vajda are coordinating an upcoming panel discussion between key players and the community to discuss H1N1 and the expectations of the upcoming flu season. Community members will be able to express concerns and receive answers. It is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 6:30pm at the Patterson Auditorium, Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA. This event is in compliance with the mandatory expectations of FEMA and PEMA (Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency) to have a large outreach Program for the National Preparedness Month which is held in September. All Councils around the country will be performing outreach in the month of September focusing on Pandemic, Upcoming Flu Season and other disaster related topics. The local county key players will also touch on preparation for the upcoming winter months. Players will include Doctors and Emergency Services Personnel.

For more information please contact Sharon Lowery at 570-867-1094 or email citizencorps@stny.rr.com.
