Lourdes Announces New Board Chairperson

Lourdes Hospital has named Dr. Thomas J. Oven as Lourdes Hospital Board Chair. Dr. Oven will assume his new role effective immediately.

“Dr. Oven is an accomplished physician with extensive experience and holds a deep commitment to our Mission,” said David Patak, Lourdes President and CEO. “He has been a member of Lourdes’ Board since 2006 and the Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee of the Board for the last 3 years. We look forward to the continued leadership and vision that Dr. Oven will bring to Lourdes.”

Dr. Oven is a board certified rheumatologist currently in private practice in Binghamton. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University Clinical Campus, Active Staff at both Lourdes Hospital and United Health Services, Medical Director of Lourdes Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, as well as Director of the Division of Rheumatology – Internal Medicine Residency Program at United Health Services.

Dr. Oven holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Scranton, Scranton, PA, received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, completed his residency at Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital and Philadelphia Veteran’s Administration Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, and completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at Albany Medical College, Albany, NY.

Dr. Oven is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and American College of Rheumatology, a member of American Society of Internal Medicine, and a member of both the Medical Society of State of New York and the Broome County Medical Society.
