WORLD MARCH FOR PEACE AND NONVIOLENCE

Peace Action of Broome is sponsoring a bus to New York City on Monday, November 30th to be part of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence.

The march began on October 2nd in New Zealand and the teams of marchers have echoed by the thousands in cities around the world. Binghamton City Council formally endorsed the march and Mayor Ryan has confirmed he will be part of our Broome County contingency greeting the marchers in New York City. Marchers will carry the Hiroshima torch to over 110 countries around the world to raise awareness of alternatives to violent actions.

Madison Terboss, a 12 year old Maine-Endwell student will sing for the marchers from the steps of New York City Hall. The local community is invited to join us either on the bus or at the New York event.
Reservations are still available with a few seats left. The bus will leave from the Oakdale Mall (Sears back parking lot), at 8 AM on Monday, November 30th and return to the Oakdale Mall by 8:30 PM. Cost of the round trip fare is $30 but Peace Action is subsidizing the ride for those who need financial assistance.
