PennDOT announces the completion of resurfacing work on over 20 miles of roadways in Susquehanna County



Dunmore– PennDOT Engineering District 4 announced that work to resurface over 20 miles of roadway in Susquehanna County has been completed. The projects were financed by federal funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).



A $628,000 contract was awarded to Reading Materials, Inc. of Hunlock Creek, Luzerne County, to resurface 4.2 miles of Route 4002 from the turnpike in Silver Lake Township to Stoney Creek Road in Franklin Twp. The project included new pavement, edge repair, line painting and new pavement markings.



PennDOT also awarded a $2,175,794 contract to Hanson Aggregates Pennsylvania, LLC of Boalsburg, Centre County, Pa., to resurface more than 16 miles of roadway. Included in that contract were more than nine miles of Route 11 in Lathrop Township, Hop Bottom Borough, Lenox and Harford townships and more than six miles of Route 2023, Clifford Township and Uniondale Borough. The project also includes guiderail work, linepainting and pavement markings.



Within the six-county region of northeastern Pennsylvania, PennDOT will invest $72 million of federal economic recovery funds on 17 transportation projects, which include road and bridge improvements, and curb ramp replacements.
