From The Salvation Army's Empire State Division:

Salvation Army Service Units in Delhi, Sidney and Hancock Have Special Need for Bellringer Volunteers
Can Call Local Coordinators to Volunteer

People in the Delaware County communities of Delhi, Sidney and Hancock can help their less fortunate neighbors by participating in The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign -- which gets under way in mid-November.

Individuals and groups -- schools, churches, clubs, businesses -- who would like to ring the bells can call the local coordinators: Maggie Reinmann at 607-746-2325 in Delhi, Randy Elliason at 607-563-8247 and Laurel Austin at 607-563-7932 in Sidney and Socorro Marlins at 607-637-2582 in Hancock. They may also call the Red Kettle Center toll free at 1-877-764-7259, or may go online to RedKettles.org and fill out the volunteer form.

Bellringing will start Thursday, November 19 and run from Thursday through Saturday every week during the holiday season -- Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The money raised in Delaware County communities is used to provide local services.

The Salvation Army's Empire State Division oversees programs in the 48 Upstate New York counties. Besides the 4 areas services in Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo, there are 47 centers in smaller cities, and 170 Service Unit Committees run by volunteers in the smaller communities around the state. Delhi, Sidney and Hancock are three of the six service units in Delaware County. The others are Margaretville/Fleischmanns, Stamford and Walton. Additional bellringers would be helpful in these areas as well.
