Ti-Ahwaga Community Players presents A Christmas Story

Celebrate this area’s favorite theatrical holiday tradition with Ralphie, the Old Man, Scut Farcas, the Bumpus Hounds and Ti-Ahwaga Community Players. A Christmas Story, adapted by Philip Grecian, based upon the writings of Jean Shepherd, will be presented at the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center at 42 Delphine Street in Owego on December 4-6 and 11-13, 2009. This classic tale is about a boy who wants a BB gun for Christmas and has us all reminiscing of our childhood Christmases. The cast includes returning and new members. Adult cast members are Todd Smith, Shawn Yetter, Kathy Harris and Nancy Brown. The children in the cast come from several local schools, including Tioga Central, Owego Elementary, Jenny F. Snapp Elementary, Maine-Endwell, and Horace Mann Elementary. Linda Fenescey directs this year’s show, having done so in 2006 also. Ti-Ahwaga continues to produce excellent community theater in the comfortable surroundings of a 150-seat cabaret-style theater, so come out and treat yourself to this holiday classic. Tickets are $15; special pricing for children under 12 is $8 and seniors (60 and over) for Sunday matinees is $12. Call 607-687-2130 for reservations (VISA and Mastercard accepted).
