Six Nation History Lecture-Thursday, Nov 12 7 PM


Waterman Conservation Education Center, 403 Hilton Road, Apalachin, will host a Six Nation History Lecture on Thursday, November 12th at 7 PM. Roy Schreck will cover culture history of the local Native Americans, focusing on the Early European contact period to present time. Topics will include male and female roles, social structure and cultural evolution of art forms. Some current topics will be discussed and there will be time for a question and answer period. A short slide presentation will be incorporated.

Schreck has a degree in cultural anthropology from the State University of New York at Oswego and has 35 years experience promoting Native American culture through the arts. He has spent much of his life living among the Iroquois in New York and Canada and has given presentations throughout the Northeast.
