Gray weather will continue through Tuesday’s outlook as the Twin Tiers and the Greater Binghamton Area will be caught between two weather systems. A cold front will be advancing from the west, while an area of low pressure remains stalled to our east. An area of convergence will setup up overhead locally keeping the chance for showers and possibly some thunderstorms into this afternoon. Any showers or thunderstorms that do develop may track slowly over the region providing the opportunity for water to pond over areas of poor drainage.

Drier weather and more sunshine will slowly return to the region over the course of the middle and late week. Clouds will decrease revealing more sunshine, and temperatures are going rise up into the 80s Wednesday through Friday. Southerly flows of wind may bring more humidity to the region during the second half of this week as well.

Into the distant weekend more showers and thunderstorms may return to the area as an upper level low drifts into the area. Showers and a few thunderstorms are possible Friday late, with more showers or thunderstorms into Saturday afternoon. Drier, but hot weather will return Sunday.
