KaDee Strickland won't be away from your TV for long: The Private Practice alum has joined the cast of NBC's Bloodline.

The drama project is described as a pulpy and highly stylized thrill ride that catapults viewers into the cheeky world of Bird Benson (Skyler Samuels), a smart, irreverent and strong young girl who, due to an accident at birth, finds herself caught in the middle of an epic struggle between two warrior families in modern suburbia.

Strickland will play Bird's mom, Stella Killpriest, a beautiful loose cannon with an epic attachment disorder. Raised in a family descended from an ancient line of killers and mercenaries, Stella is tired of being controlled and decides to raise an army of her own that will make her capable of standing toe-to-toe with her own father Leo (Jonathan Banks). Unfortunately, Stella is destined to be killed by Bird.

David Graziano (Awake) will write and executive-produce the pilot with Friday Night Lights' Peter Berg.

Strickland isn't the only Private alum to land a pilot this season: Her TV son Griffin Gluck recently joined the untitled Cullen brothers project for ABC starring James Caan and Maggie Lawson.
