Heating systems for the home can vary widely, but all ensure the same goal - comfort in the home. There are several types of systems from which to choose. Steam, hot water, forced warm air, and electric heating systems all function in basically the same way. Each is equipped with a control, a heat producer, a heat exchanger, and a heat distributor. Most homes today are heated by forced warm air or hot water heating systems. Steam heat is usually found in older homes, and electric heat is used in some situations. An important factor to consider when choosing a furnace is the type of fuel that is easily available in your area. For more specific information, contact your local heating services professional.
