Closed circuit television, or C-C-T-V, is a system of relaying audio and video signals from a camera to a monitor. The camera can be hidden or out in the open. You can choose to merely monitor what's being viewed or recorded. It's called closed circuit because it sends the signal to one or several selected receivers instead of being broadcast to the general public. Cameras can be installed to pan and tilt or to stay in a fixed position. You can also have a dome camera, which can monitor many directions from one spot, or you can have multiple cameras installed in various places around your home. Zoom lenses allow you to get a closer look at suspicious activity. C-C-T-V can be used to verify activity at entrances and exits without opening doors, which is great if you have children home alone. You can protect your garage, driveway, or other areas from possible theft or vandalism. These cameras often deter criminal activity before it occurs. They can be helpful if you have a pool, so you're able to monitor activity from another location. For outdoor use, you can cover the camera with weather-proof housing. For more information on how C-C-T-V can help protect your home from danger or criminal activity, contact a security system company in your area.
