Kids love secrets, especially ones they're in on. That's what makes invisible ink so much fun. Here are a couple of recipes for invisible ink, but remember, the ones which require the use of candles definitely needs adult supervision. The first recipe requires lemon juice and a paintbrush. After using the brush to write the message in lemon juice and letting the paper dry, hold the paper over a candle flame, not too closely though or it will catch fire. After a short while, the words magically appear. You can also use milk in place of the lemon juice for the invisible ink, but lemon juice works better. The next recipe calls for ingredients that are more difficult to find, but this invisible ink doesn't require a candle. The ink's made by dissolving some salt of tartar in water. Use the paint brush to write the message. To read it, crush violets in water, dip a sponge in the violet water, and lightly wipe the paper. You'll definitely enthrall your kids.
