A group of Masters of Social Work Graduate students from Binghamton University will be going down to New Orleans to help people there.
This will be the third year students will take the trip.
From January 12th to the 19th they will be working with people in a variety of areas.
In the past, they've worked with the elderly who are home-bound, a youth job training program, with teen parents, and HIV outreach.
Teresa Teeple says, "Our focus is to provide victims of Katrina respite in the form generally of mental health counseling and also to really help us sharpen our skills as graduate students and to bring our skills back here to the Southern Tier."
Rachel Harendza says, "It was a very emotional experience. You hear about all the things that people went through, but we got to see it through first hand, drive through the towns and actually talk with people to get their first hand experiences. It was really emotional."
