Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo says her recent trip to China may encourage some Chinese to visit our area.

Also on the trip, was BU Professor Hari Srihari, who met with representatives from Nanjing University in China to collaborate on a possible student exchange program with Binghamton.

The assemblywoman says that she was overwhelmed by the amount of growth and development she witnessed on the trip, and that it is important to keep the lines of communication open between New York and China.

They kept telling us over and over again that they view America as the home of innovation, and I came back from the trip committed to see that innovation be put to work, when New Yorkers come back to work, and try to figure out a good balance between foreign investment and in-state investment by New York."

Lupardo and Srihari visited several businesses interested in locating manufacturing, retail, and other operations in New York.
