A retired state prison guard accused of murdering two people surrendered to police early this morning in Kirkwood.
Police say 52 year-old Anthony Pavonne was wanted in connection with two killings in the Town of Dannemora, west of Plattsburg on January 31st..
A sheriff's deputy spotted Pavonne's pick-up truck at the Del Motel last last night.
That led to a four and a half hour standoff.
Police say Pavonne told them he was armed.
At about 4-30 this morning Pavonne surrendered.
State Police are conducting the investigation.
