Binghamton Restaurant Week is almost here again.
It begins next Tuesday and will run through March 21st. Nearly every restaurant in the city is offering great deals as part of the 10 day long eating extravaganza.
For instance, you can get 3 course lunches for only $10 at 18 restaurants. And, 3 course dinners for $25 and under at another 18 eateries. Proceeds from the week will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton. Piero Lisio of Little Venice Restaurant is one of the organizers. The effort started off with 7 restaurants two years ago and has quickly grown.
Lisio says, "With restaurant week this year we're going to have 23 restaurants. I don't even know if we had 23 independently owned let alone participating when it started. It's just fantastic. There's no question now about survival."
Friday's preview was hosted by Gallagher's Irish Pub at 92 Robinson Street, which opened its doors about a year ago. Marijo Gallagher says, "This is our second time in Restaurant Week. After our first time it really put us on the map. We're proud to participate in it. It brings us new customers daily, always seeing new faces."
