The New York State Assembly has voted to ban hydrofracking in the state for two more years.

That vote came Wednesday afternoon. The Assembly wants to know the results of an independent health study before deciding if the gas drilling process should be allowed to be used. However, the State Senate doesn't have similar legislation at this point. It's remain to be seen if the Senate will actually vote on the issue.
