A Vestal woman may soon hold the title of "World's Best Bartender."
T.G.I. Fridays bartender Jessica Myers is one of ten finalists from around the world competing in the annual World Bartender Championship. Myers beat out 8 thousand other competitors at the bar, regional, and divisional levels to make it all the way to the finals in Dallas. This will be her fourth year competing, but her first time at the world level. Since coming to Vestal four years ago, Myers has been developing her own style of what Friday's calls "flairtending."
Jessica Myers says "I saw someone else doing it so I tried a trick, and after a few bumps and bruises I landed it and realized that I had some pretty decent hand-eye coordination. And I come up with some of my own moves so I can be creative with it. And it's fun, it's intense, it's a workout."
Myers is the only female competitor in this year's competition. If she wins, she'll be the first woman ever to hold the title of "World's Best Bartender."
