A local musician and recording engineer is opening his own music studio in Binghamton.

23 year-old Nick Masucci is launching York Productions at 140 Front Street. Masucci is a member of the pop music group Starstruck, which has played the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena and Turning Stone. Now, he's moving his recording studio out of his parents' basement and into a state of the art facility providing sound recording plus music video production, promotion and deejay services.

Masucci says, "I really want to make something out of myself here in town. I feel like Binghamton is known for a few things but not as a hub for the music industry. So, I'd like to give that a chance."

York Productions will hold a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Friday at 4 followed by a First Friday open house with food and cocktails. There will be a deejay plus open mike for singers to freestyle and show off their talent.
