The Binghamton Simulator Company has been awarded with 4-and a half million dollars to

help build a virtual simulation training system for two Army helicopters.

The contract is expected to create about ten high-tech jobs and boost the workload of 42 other employees.

And, down the road could lead to more jobs.

Today Congressman Maurice Hinchey was at the BSC facility on Court Street to announce the award.

The simulator is a device for realistic exercises and rehearsals for Army helicopter training, including for rear aircrew members as they work on door gunnery.

Greg Stanton says, "In the past all that training was accomplished in the aircraft which is very expensive, this will help save on fuel cost, ammunition cost, and the wear and tear of the actual aircraft as well because they can train in our device and make better use of the aircraft flight time."

The Binghamton Simulator Company has been in business for twenty years.
