The Broome County Sheriff's Office has also been cracking down on traffic violators.
During two 3 hour saturation patrols in the Town of Union, police say they caught 12 people who weren't wearing seat belts. They also gave 16 people tickets for talking on their cell phones, one ticket for texting while driving. And, 5 people got tickets for going through red lights. The effort was part of New York State's Buckle Up New York campaign.
