It was a time to give thanks and honor businesses, agencies and individuals.

The 14th annual Thanksgiving Luncheon was this afternoon at the Binghamton Regency.

It was sponsored by the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce.

The law firm Hinman, Howard and Kattell was honored with the Corporate Citizen Award.

One of the things the firm did this year was sponsor the Dick's Sporting Goods Open and let everyone come in to the senior PGA golf event for free one of the days.

Catholic Charities of Broome County was given the Community Advocate Award.

Joe Slavik says, "As you can imagine the way things are going here economically, times are really stressful for many people and families. We continue to keep very busy especially at this time of the year with the holidays approaching. We're in the middle of a major solicitation effort now to help those families out."

Also recognized was the American Civic Association and its work to re-open after the tragedy there earlier this year.
