More than 150 students at U-E's George F Johnson Elementary School took part in a Festival of Learning.

The kids picked something that they are interested in and then researched it. Projects included the history of Lego's, how maple syrup is made and paper airplanes. The goal of the festival, which is sponsored by the school's PTA, is to encourage kids to learn outside of the classroom.

5th grader Haley Bowman explains her project. "I did the Tunkhannock Viaduct. It's a bridge. Viaduct stands for a bridge that has arches."

Haley chose the viaduct because her grandparents lived close to it. She says it took three years to build with 500 men working on it.
