New York State Assemblyman Cliff Crouch has spear-headed an on-line petition drive to repeal the state's new gun control law.
Crouch blasts the New York SAFE Act saying it won't protect families. He says it misses the mark by treating law-abiding citizens as criminals while not adequately addressing mental health problems that people have. The Republican, who voted against the act, says by reducing the limit on bullets in handguns, many owners will have trouble selling their now illegal firearms.
Crouch says, "By bringing it from 10 down to 7, we didn't gain anything as far as safety on the streets or at our schools. If somebody's going to walk in there with a 30 round clip in the rifle, they're already illegal. So we didn't really gain anything."
The petition can be found on Crouch's official Assembly web page. You can log onto
