Another First Friday event has an environmental theme.
An ad hoc group of Greater Binghamton female artists calling themselves the Gaia Grrrls is putting on show focusing on natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale.
The exhibit takes place in the second floor gallery at City Hall.
It includes paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media.
Artist Kry Bastian says art is an effective way to express environmental concerns.
Kry Bastion says, "We just really want to promote knowledge, knowledge on this issue, to get informed. We're not trying to hammer down one point. We are trying to show that there are dramatic repercussions that have taken place in other states who've gone through this development."
Tomorrow's opening will also include performances, including dance, drumming, poetry and puppetry.
The show runs through the next First Friday on March 5th.
