Some walking trail upgrades will be made at Otsiningo Park.

They will be funded by money from the Constitution Pipeline's Community Grant Program. Chairman of the Broome County Legislature, Jerry Marinich, applied for the $25,000 grant late last year. The money will be used to widen a long stretch of the walking trail, from 8 to 10 feet. Repairs will also be made to other sections of the trail to make sure the pavement is smooth. The upgrades will make things more pleasant for residents who use the park and for vendors during the annual Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally.

Dave Pessagno says, "This is going to help us a lot with our vendors as far as getting them more room. It's going to help with our 5K run/walk that we have there. Last year we had over 800 participants and that walkway is very crowded during that time and I'm sure this will help us a lot during Spiedie Fest."

The work is expected to be done in April and finished in May. It will be performed by county employees.
