Binghamton Restaurant Week entered its 4th day Friday and the crowds of hungry diners are mounting.
In response to the demand, the Whole in the Wall on Binghamton's Southside is remaining open all 10 days of Restaurant Week. It's serving a $10 lunch with half pita pockets and pita pizzas and a $20 dinner with pierogy lasagna or bluefish or stir fried vegetables. Both meals finish with a raspberry chocolate chip brownie sundae.
Senior Partner Eliot Fiks says Restaurant Week keeps growing. "It's a pretty wide spectrum. We see students, we see people from the community, the UHS hospitals, some regulars too, of course."
This Sunday, for Saint Patrick's Day, the Whole in the Wall will offer its annual special menu of Irish beef stew, soda bread and Guinness chocolate cake. And there will be Celtic music from noon to 3 with jigs, reels and aires performed on the dulcimer, fiddle and pennywhistle. Then the piano stylings of Ed Abrams during dinner playing your Irish favorites.
