The Binghamton Rotary Club 64 is celebrating a very special anniversary this year.

The club is turning 100. It was the first in our area and 64th in the nation.  To celebrate, members are planning a series of community service projects. It will fund handicap playground equipment for Otsiningo Park, spray fountains for children at Columbus Park, and make donations to the YWCA of Binghamton and the Gary Fattal Free Clinic.

Chair of the Centennial Committee, Dave Gouldin says the Rotary Club is proud of its commitment to the community. "The people here have that same spirit of service above self that I think promotes a lot of volunteer support not just for our organization, but for other organizations in the community."

Rotary Club 64 will celebrate its Centennial with a dinner on May 1st at the Riverwalk Hotel. It's inviting members of other local Rotaries which Gouldin says spun off of the original Binghamton club.
