A Vestal High School club received a special award Thursday.
The Interact Club received the Changemaker Award from the Vestal Rotary Club in recognition for its service to the community. Members help out with the CHOW Walk and Relay for Life as well as international charity by raising money for UNICEF and donating books.
Zara Shah is the president of the club. Shah says, "It's wonderful. It's nice to be awarded for service that you've done for the past few years and it feels nice to know that all the service we have done in these past years has amounted to a very respectable award presented by a very distinguished member of our community."
The Changemaker Award was started by Rotary in 2011 to honor high school clubs that perform community service.
