An almost 30 year rivalry in the coupon book selling industry is ending.
Michigan based Entertainment Promotions has filed for bankruptcy and laid off nearly 600 workers. This is paving the way for locally owned Save Around to be the undisputed leader in the industry. Both businesses provide coupon books to schools, sports teams, and civic organizations to be sold as fundraisers. Save Around is owned by the Stanton family which first got into the business with Dine-A-Mate back in 1975.
President Luke Stanton says deep discounts to quality merchants are key to their success. "We're a fundraising company first. We really believe in the local grassroots organizations and how we build our product. So our product is there to build and service local fundraising community groups and help them raise funds, raising money for uniforms, class trips, just funds in general."
Save Around coupon books sell for $20. Groups make $10 for every book sold. Save Around currently employs about 60 people locally along with regional sales people across the country. Stanton says the company is continuing to hire managerial and sales positions. For more information, visit
