Snow covered roads made for treacherous travel Monday night and Tuesday morning.
From Noon Monday through Noon Tuesday, there were 299 accidents in Broome County. This was one of those crashes. A tractor trailer carrying plastic containers jack-knifed at about 8:30 Tuesday morning along Interstate-88 in Colesville. The driver wasn't hurt. However, the truck's front end was damaged and had to be towed. It took about three hours to clear the accident. Tow companies have been nearly overwhelmed with calls. One company last night said it was so busy it couldn't get to some stranded cars until Tuesday morning.
