The BC Veterans Memorial Association has received a $5,000 grant from the county.
It will be used to help the volunteer group, which attends military funerals, to buy uniforms and do rifle maintenance. The association attend the funerals of county residents who served in the armed forces. Up until now, members have had to pay for their own repairs and clothing expenses.
Tony Moran says, "Our services, we try to get that out. We're there for the people, the residents of Broome County. We're always looking for new members. We're getting a little on in years and it would be great if we could get people interested in joining our group."
