New York State Police have identified 1 of 2 bodies found in a burned out house in the Town of Walton.
Police say 48 year-old Debra Sundstrom committed suicide by shooting herself in the head. On Tuesday afternoon, police were visiting the home on John Lockwood Road as part of a criminal investigation when they heard gunshots from inside. They went in and found a dead woman on the second floor. That's when police discovered that the house was on fire and had to quickly evacuate. After the fire was extinguished, investigators searched the property and found a second body in the basement. Neither an I-D nor cause of death has been determined for the second body yet. The fire has been ruled arson. Anyone with information is asked to call State Police at 561-7400.
