Recap: West Virginia vs. DePaul

Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - Kevin Jones registered a double-double with 22 points and a game-high 16 rebounds as West Virginia defeated DePaul, 92-75, in Big East Conference action at WVU Coliseum.

Also scoring in double figures for the Mountaineers (18-12, 8-9 Big East) were Darryl Bryant with a game-high 28 points and Jabarie Hinds with 14 to go along with four assists as the team snapped a two-game slide.

The Blue Demons (11-18, 2-15) were paced by Cleveland Melvin and Brandon Young with 21 points apiece, the former grabbing eight rebounds and the latter handing out eight assists, but still the squad suffered a ninth straight setback. Moses Morgan tacked on 15 points off the bench.

The Mountaineers scored the first points of the night and never looked back, shooting an impressive 50.0 percent from the field in the first half in order to post a 47-31 advantage at the break.

In the second half it was more of the same for WVU as the squad knocked down 51.6 percent from the floor, although the team did hit a few sour notes with just 1-of-5 accuracy beyond the arc and 12-of-20 shooting at the free-throw line in the frame.

The hosts outscored DePaul at the charity stripe by a 25-13 margin and also won the battle of the boards, 47-27.
