Recap: Dartmouth vs. Brown

Hanover, NH (Sports Network) - Tyler Melville scored 15 points to pace three players in double figures as the Dartmouth Big Green downed the Brown Bears 58-53 in an Ivy League test at Leede Arena.

R.J. Griffin added 13 points for Dartmouth (5-21, 1-9 Ivy League), which won its first game in the Ancient Eight in 10 tries. The Big Green had lost eight straight games and 14 of its previous 15. John Golden added 10 points while Jvonte Brooks pulled down 11 rebounds.

Matt Sullivan and Sean McGonagill scored 14 points each for Brown (7-20, 1-9), which lost its seventh straight. Stephen Albrecht added 11 points while Tyler Ponticelli and Andrew McCarthy each pulled down five rebounds. McGonagill handed out six assists for the Bears.

Dartmouth led 26-24 at halftime after going 8-of-18 from the floor in the opening half.

Brown led by nine with 13:12 left in the game but went the final 7:08 without a field goal. Dartmouth's biggest lead was six in the final seconds.

The Big Green prevailed despite 17 turnovers. Dartmouth had a 32-22 edge on the glass.
