El Segundo, CA (Sports Network) - Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard will leave the team and fly back to the West Coast in order to have a treatment done to his ailing right shoulder.

Howard, who aggravated an injury to that shoulder in Wednesday's game in Phoenix, will undergo platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy in Los Angeles under the supervision of Dr. Steven Yoon.

He is listed as day-to-day, but will rejoin the Lakers in Detroit prior to Sunday's game with the Pistons.
